Lassiter High School’s Annual Homecoming Parade. A Decades Long Community Tradition.
Lassiter High School Homecoming Parade Returns October 10
It’s a tradition that East Cobb families look forward to every fall, Lassiter High School’s Homecoming Parade, where music, floats, and school spirit light up Shallowford Road. This year’s parade will take place on Friday, October 10, 2025, beginning at 5:30 p.m., and promises to be as festive as ever. The theme for 2025 is “Rio Carnivale,” bringing bright colors, high energy, and plenty of flair to the parade route. The community is invited to line the sidewalks along Shallowford Road, starting at Gordy Parkway and ending at Lassiter High School. For the best view, spectators are asked to stay on the sidewalk closest to Harrison Tennis Park, where floats and performers will pass directly by.
The Lassiter Homecoming Parade is more than just a school event, it is a beloved community tradition. The homecoming court will ride in convertibles, waving to cheering families. The marching band and orchestra will fill the air with music, and Lassiter’s many sports teams, clubs, and student organizations will decorate floats in true Carnivale fashion, tossing candy and trinkets to kids along the route. Younger siblings and future Trojans always delight in catching candy and soaking up the atmosphere, making the parade a multi-generational celebration.
After the parade winds its way down Shallowford Road, the excitement continues at Lassiter’s homecoming football game, where the energy of the day carries into a night of cheering, performances, and Trojan pride. For decades, this parade has been a way for the Lassiter community, students, families, alumni, and neighbors — to come together and celebrate tradition. Whether you’re there to watch a child march, cheer on the floats, or simply soak in the school spirit, the Homecoming Parade is a reminder that East Cobb is more than just a place to live — it’s a community that rallies together year after year.
